Swimming

24th Oct 2024

Thinking this was our last swimming session we stopped off for lunch on the way back to school. We were all very hungry!

Everyone enjoyed their lunch.

It was a real treat which was well deserved after working towards either our metres badges or our Rookie Life Guard 1,2 or 3.

This is a programme that gives such important real life skills of:
- rescuing a drowning casualty
- performing a rope throwing rescue
- entering water to wade to a casualty 5 metres away
- treading water and signal for help
- treating a casualty for shock to name just a few things we have been doing over the last 8 weeks. All this while wearing our clothes, and then being able to remove them and use them to make a float.

Next half term we will be working on improving our stroke and gaining our BIG metre certificates.
