The children in Year 5 looked fabulous today with their creative ideas for dressing up as a book character. Today we celebrated World Book Day with a live online CoreKids session. Using a story the children took part in active movements to keep fit. Later we linked in with the BBC live lesson, hearing from some authors and thinking about fiction and non fiction books as well as different genres. We worked in small groups to ask each other questions about the type of books we like before making recommendations of books to read. We finished off our celebrations with a hot seating activity in drama.
The children have also been busy over the last few weeks designing and making scenes from a chosen book using shoe boxes.
